very useful discussion… as LR commentary progresses by leaving the hyperbole and homerism aside, bit by painful bit. What is ’emerging’ as LR burns off all the semi-final dross? IF LR continues to make the case on the merits… there may well be one helluva case ‘beyond a reasonable doubt to a… certainty’. There IS NO CASE that we cannot destroy using [cue Miami ex.] ‘all the usual [hyperbole] suspects’…. Especially if Joey’s team wins the NC… tOSU urges and narratives surrounding the Burrow’s departure from tOSU will abound through time & change…indefinitely. My opinion doesn’t matter…. Considering, does: why didn’t UM pick Burrow over Haskins when Burrow is with little doubt the ‘better runner’ AND UM prefers the ‘running game’ over ‘the passing game’? IDK… and i don’t think were was ‘the reason why’. But i do suspect that [a] Day had just arrived and had yet to prove to UM his ability to ‘develop the QB’. And [b] UM, for all his kudos & record… was past his prime as a schemer & play-caller, as is any good leader who goes by his personal preferences instead of offensive principles / standards.
