Ryan Day proud of fight from Justin Fields, Buckeyes
Ohio State players, coaches and parents have taken to social media. They have sent open letters to the Big Ten. They formed petitions and voiced their desire to play football this fall. They haven’t stopped since last Tuesday, when the Big Ten canceled the season after releasing a schedule just days before.
And while they have been doing all those things, Ohio State coach Ryan Day has made sure the Buckeyes know he is proud of them.
After Justin Fields created an online petition to reinstate the fall football season, which has more than 260,000 signatures in fewer than 48 hours, Day made sure to send a tweet out, voicing his support for Fields.
“I could not be more proud of Justin Fields and I support his efforts,” Day said in the Tweet. “He loves Ohio State. He loves his teammates. We ask our players to be leaders and he’s leading. I’m honored to coach him and this team. #FIGHT”
Ohio State will continue to fight for a college football season. And Justin Fields will be leading the charge.

New Lettermen Live hosted by Roosters
Lettermen Live is back for the first show since the Big Ten canceled the season, so it was a loaded edition.
Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward welcomes former Buckeyes stars Michael Bennett, Anthony Schlegel and Doug Worthington for a discussion about the cancelation of the Big Ten football season, the league’s next steps and spring season possibilities. The panel takes a deep dive into the Big Ten’s leadership and lack of communication with members, as well as the players push to play despite the cancelation last week.
Make sure not to miss this huge edition of Lettermen Live hosted by Roosters on Olentangy River Road in Columbus.
Bennett Christian breaks down visit to Columbus
The NCAA isn’t allowing recruits to visit football programs right now during the pandemic. But Bennett Christian is taking recruiting matters into his own hands as the NCAA continues to provide nothing but uncertainty.
The No. 18-ranked 2022 tight end hasn’t been able to see any college campuses this summer because of the Covid-19 related recruiting restrictions, so he and his family have decided it’s time to literally hit the road and check out the places he’s interested in — regardless of interaction from coaching staffs during his visit.
Last weekend, the 6-foot-6, 235-pound Altoona (Acworth, Ga.) High School standout made his way north to Columbus and spent time hanging out in the land of the Buckeyes, checking out the sights and sounds of a city he could be calling home in the near future if he ends up choosing Ohio State for college.
How much will his father push for the young tight end to follow in the checkered orange footsteps? What random connection does Christian have with an Ohio State freshman defensive back?
Bennett Christian talks about those things and more on the newest episode of Birminology.
