Good morning, Ohio State fans, and welcome to the Scarlet Sunrise! Football will always be our focus, but every day we’ll cover news, notes and analysis from across Buckeyes sports. Join us each morning to get caught up on everything you missed in the world of Ohio State football, recruiting, basketball and more.
Showtime for Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins
Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins looked impressive in his first two games, but the ante will get upped Saturday against TCU. Lettermen Row senior writer Austin Ward weighed in on the stakes for Haskins and the Buckeyes:
He’s handled everything thrown his way without blinking an eye. Even dating back to that second-half comeback off the bench, on the road and against a stout Michigan defense last season, Haskins has rarely seemed fazed by the responsibilities of leading Ohio State.
How far can Dwayne Haskins take the Buckeyes? Can he get himself to the Heisman ceremony? There should be a much clearer picture by the end of the game this weekend.
Deep in the heart of Texas
There are seven Texas natives on Ohio State’s roster, several of whom are current or emerging stars. How did it come to be that way? Lettermen Row contributor John Brice wrote a great story about how Ohio State has plucked so much talent out of the Lone Star State in recent recruiting cycles.
Beanie breaks down Mike Weber
Former Ohio State standout Beanie Wells broke down a handful of plays from Buckeyes running back Mike Weber for his latest edition of BuckIQ. Looking at that two-tailback formation, the physical tools Weber brings to the table and a few other details about the schemes that appeal to a former NFL rusher, count Wells among those seeing plenty of positives from Mike Weber and the Buckeyes on film.
Meet Lettermen Row in DFW
In addition to covering the Ohio State-TCU game, Lettermen Row will be at two Ohio State fan events the weekend of the big matchup. On Friday night, we’ll be at The Flying Saucer in downtown Fort Worth for the OSU Buckeye Rally hosted by the OSU Alumni Club of DFW. The event runs from 7 p.m. until 2 a.m. and info can be found here.
On game day, be sure to stop by the OSU Alumni Club of DFW Tailgate Party near the stadium. We’ll also be there, and info on how to attend can be found here.
