Rising optimism for return of football, Justin Fields offseason to-do list

COLUMBUS — Another jam-packed edition of Lettermen Live presented by Roosters is here, and although the Buckeyes are still on hiatus, the show is full of intrigue.

Host Austin Ward is joined by Lettermen Row’s Jeremy Birmingham and Spencer Holbrook, as well as former Ohio State quarterback Justin Zwick for a conversation about the rising optimism surrounding a possible college football season. The guys talk about the upcoming game at Oregon, how the pandemic could impact that and the season in general.

They also moved onto some real football storylines regarding Justin Fields, his physical progression this offseason, what he can be doing to improve and how the backup quarterback competition might be shaped based on the lack of spring practice.

It’s Lettermen Live, and it’s all presented by Roosters.

Birm I do agree that Gov. Brown should not be trying to predict where her state or the country will be in September. It is beneath you to troll & insult a Gov. that you, or none of us know that much about. I’m here in WA where the state is a huge rival to Oregon. While duck fans are the rudest fans on the planet. I don’t know enough about their Gov. to say one way or the other about her.

Tbh it is actually idiotic, as he said, to make choices about September right now. What’s the point? Things are so different by the week, that’s 4 months out. Maybe that call will end up being right, maybe it won’t. But we won’t know for quite some time, so what’s the point in making it now? That’s the reasoning for the hard stance here. It’s like she’s making a broad stroke proclamation just because she can.

I’m a Buckeye fan (Born in Euclid) who has lived in Eugene for the last 20 years. Phase 3 of re-opening is what it would take to have significant number of fans at a sporting event. That’s unlikely to happen before September, but hopefully they will let them play w/out a full stadium. I’ve been waiting for this game for the last 5 years. Autzen is a good stadium to see a game. Here is a snippet of what I received today regarding re-opening:
Phase III
Concerts, conventions, festivals, live audience sports won’t be
possible until a reliable treatment or prevention is available. It
is unknown at this time when this will be.
Therefore, all large gatherings should be cancelled or
significantly modified through at least September. Further
guidance on large gatherings scheduled for later in the fall will
be provided this summer.
