Ohio State opens as 31.5-point favorite against Minnesota

COLUMBUS — Ohio State has cleared its own path to Indianapolis and the Big Ten Championship after big wins early on, and with Minnesota slated to make the trip to Columbus this week, the Buckeyes are heavy favorites heading into the matchup.

VegasInsider.com listed Ohio State as a 31-and-a-half-point favorite over the Golden Gophers for their matchup in Ohio Stadium Saturday at noon. The line for the matchup,¬†however, quickly jumped up to 32 shortly after. The Buckeyes are coming off a win over Indiana last week in a game of two halves, where Dwayne Haskins’ massive game through the air was the key to the Buckeyes moving to 6-0 on the season.

On the other side, Minnesota enters the Shoe after falling at home to Iowa to move to 3-2 this year. Head coach P.J. Fleck heads to Columbus for the first time since he was the head coach at Western Michigan in 2015, where the Broncos received a 38-12 beating. All-time, Ohio State leads the head-to-head series with Minnesota 44 to 7, and have won the last nine meetings with the Golden Gophers.
