COLUMBUS — Penn State week is over, and as Binjimen Victor said after receiving the game ball Saturday night, “there’s still work left to do.”
Ahead of their return to the Shoe, the Buckeyes opened as 27-point favorites over the visiting Indiana next Saturday, according to VegasInsider.com. Ohio State has won the last 22 matchups against the Hoosiers, and have won four of the last five matchups by at least two touchdowns.
It comes as zero shock that the Buckeyes are heavily favored in this one, and as long as nothing crazy happens, Ohio State will likely make it 23 straight wins over Indiana Saturday at home.
Coming off a second straight one-point victory over Penn State, Urban Meyer said the fourth-quarter drive led by Dwayne Haskins was “one of the great drives in Ohio State history.” With that, the Buckeyes are hoping to keep their foot on the gas pedal through October and November leading up to The Game on Nov. 24 and into December for the Big Ten Championship.
After the coaches and AP Polls were released Sunday, Ohio State sits at No. 3 in both rankings and is in a great position for the College Football Playoff picture. With only one or two more likely ranked matchups left on their slate, the Buckeyes look to be in good shape heading into the second half of the season.
Is there a trap game left on Ohio State’s schedule? Will the Buckeyes be undefeated heading into December? Only time will tell, but I think Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes will enjoy the win in Happy Valley for a long time.
