NEW ORLEANS — Ohio State fought all year for a chance to line up against Clemson, another chance to slay the dragon named the Tigers.
On Friday night in the Big Easy, the Buckeyes did just that and did so in resounding fashion, thoroughly dismantling the Clemson defense and slowing down Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne enough to win comfortably in the College Football Playoff, 49-28. The Sugar Bowl win sets up the Buckeyes for a national championship matchup with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Ohio State collected almost 650 yards of total offense, led by Justin Fields 385 yards passing and a Sugar Bowl record six touchdown passes. Chris Olave collected 132 yards and two scores in his redemption song for the Buckeyes.
Lettermen Row was on-hand and has the sights and sounds from the highly-anticipated rematch with Clemson, including reaction from Ryan Day and a number of Ohio State players on our YouTube channel. Check out some of the night’s photos from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome by viewing them below.
