Ohio State football recruiting can be a wild ride full of twists and turns as recruits from all over the country maneuver their way to signing day. Lettermen Row is here to help navigate the tumultuous roads by getting to the heart of the matter with the young football players themselves. Birminology shows who the young men being recruited by Ohio State truly are — by talking to them. Today’s guest is Ohio State 2021 offensive line target J.C. Latham, who has become a major target for the Buckeyes.
When Wisconsin native and IMG Academy standout J.C. Latham first visited Ohio State in March, he did so as a raw but talented defensive line prospect. He spent nearly that entire visit hanging out with 5-star Buckeyes commit Jack Sawyer.
When he returned to Ohio State in November, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound junior did so as an offensive tackle prospect who had quickly become a major priority for the Buckeyes on the recruiting trail, spending that trip to Ohio with Ben Christman and a group of uber-talented lineman hoping to form a real and unique bond.
But what has Ohio State done to show the talented, top-100 prospect that it is selling more than just fluff?
How did Wisconsin recruit J.C. Latham? What has the time he’s spent at the IMG Academy done for him as a student and as a football player? Where does his recruitment go from here? Latham answers these things and more in this week’s edition of Birminology on Lettermen Row.
