Recruiting Question of the Day

With Harry Miller committed, who could be next for the Buckeyes 2019 recruiting class?

Today’s Ohio State recruiting Question of the Day

This question comes courtesy of Twitter

I like this question because there’s no real way for me to be wrong. I enjoy that scenario.

Thanks Mike.

Anyway, to get to the question itself and put aside my giant ego for a moment, there are a handful of players who could end up being “next” in the Buckeyes class of 2019 — and most of the guys that you’d put on that list are set to visit the weekend of June 22.

There are a pair of wide receivers, both from St. Louis, in Marcus Washington and Jameson Williams, that I think could pop for the Buckeyes, though I think Washington is perhaps a bit more likely to pull the trigger during his visit than Williams.

Ohio State will also host Cincinnati Anderson’s Zeke Correll that weekend, and there’s optimism that he could be trending back toward the Buckeyes. He’s the country’s No. 9-ranked guard and would be a big addition for the Buckeyes, knowing that they’d pretty much just be looking to add one more tackle with four pieces of a tremendous offensive line class already in place.

The most likely player to commit that weekend though seems to be Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas defensive back Jordan Battle. Right now, there are 13 predictions on the crystal ball for Battle and each has him heading to Ohio State. And while that’s hardly an exact science, it’s a pretty good indicator that all the right things are being said behind closed doors in that recruitment. He’s the country’s No. 12-ranked safety, but he’s got the length that the Buckeyes love to see in a corner.

There are two more Ohio State one-day camps coming up this week on Tuesday and Saturday, and as we found out when Harry Miller showed up last Friday, you just don’t know what’s going to happen and who has been setting up visits.

Bottom line is this: Ohio State has 10 commitments right now and you should expect to see a couple more before the end of June.
