An independent multimedia outlet covering Ohio State sports, Lettermen Row provides year-round coverage of one of the most successful athletic departments in the country for perhaps the largest, most passionate fan base at the collegiate level. Our company blends written content with podcasts and video to provide truly comprehensive insight into the Buckeyes.

Lettermen Row has placed an emphasis on hiring experienced, professional journalists to match with unparalleled analysis from former Buckeyes. That combination allows for the company to dig deep and offer an understanding of the latest games, plays, recruiting moves and more that can’t be matched in a competitive Columbus market.

Meet our Team

Austin Ward, Senior Writer – Austin is Lettermen Row’s senior writer covering Ohio State football and basketball. The award-winning journalist has covered the Buckeyes since 2012, spending five of those seasons working for ESPN after previous stints at the Casper Star-Tribune and Knoxville News Sentinel.

Jeremy Birmingham, Director of Recruiting – “Birm” is Lettermen Row’s Director of Recruiting and the site’s primary Ohio State sports photographer. A Toledo, Ohio native, Jeremy has been in similar roles for elevenwarriors.com and Landof10.com and has been covering the Buckeyes and Ohio State recruiting since 2011.

Spencer Holbrook, Reporter – Spencer covers Ohio State football and basketball for Lettermen Row. A graduate of Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism, he’s in his second year covering the Buckeyes. He was previously the sports editor at Ohio’s student newspaper, The Post, where he covered Ohio University football and men’s basketball.

Tim May, Contributor – Tim brings decades of experience to his work on the Ohio State beat. The award-winning journalist retired from his post at the Columbus Dispatch after the 2018 season but remains a fixture around the Buckeyes and continues to loom as an authority on the program.

Sam Silverman, Creative Director – Sam is Lettermen Row’s Creative Director, developing and maintaining the brand’s identity. A Youngstown native and Ohio State grad, Sam was formerly a Creative Director for Ohio State Football where he launched college sports’ first ever personal brand development program. He and his work have been featured on national media outlets including ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo! Sports, and Front Office Sports.

Pete Nakos, Reporter -Pete covers Ohio State football and basketball for Lettermen Row. A graduate of Ohio University’s Scripps School of Communication, he’s in his first year covering the Buckeyes. He was previously a sports reporter at the Valley News in West Lebanon, N.H., covering preps and Dartmouth College athletics. He’s also worked at NHPR and was the assistant sports editor of Ohio’s student newspaper, The Post.

Will Crall, Founder – Will is Lettermen Row’s founder. Prior to starting Lettermen Row, Will held various positions for the Dispatch Printing Company which included, WBNS-TV, 97.1 The Fan and WTHR-TV. Will attended Ohio State University and was a walk-on member of the Football team.

Former player contributors “Lettermen”

Beanie Wells – Beanie was Ohio State’s running back from 2006-2008. He was named first-team all Big Ten in 2007 and is an owner of three pairs of Gold Pants. A first-round pick of the Arizona Cardinals, Beanie was named to the NFL All-Rookie team in 2009. Today, he is currently a business owner and media personality residing in Columbus.

Zach Boren – Zach was a 2012 captain and member of the 12-0 team. Winner of the Big Ten Conference Sportsmanship Award and an ESPN/Kirk Herbstreit “Herbie”. Zach remains in the Columbus area and heads the development of Boren Brothers.

Cardale Jones – Cardale was a quarterback at Ohio State from 2012-2015, helping the Buckeyes win a national championship in 2014. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills and has played for the Chargers and Seahawks. Cardale remains in the Columbus area and is a business owner.

Evan Spencer – Evan was a four-year starter and a Captain on the 2014 National Champion football team. Currently, Evan is an entrepreneur living in Columbus.

Jake Stoneburner – Jake was a Tight end at OSU from 2008-2012. He is the all-time leader in touchdowns for TEs and was a member of the 2012 undefeated team. He is currently working for financial advisory firm, Stoneburner Wealth.

Reid Fragel – Fragel was a starting offensive lineman and tight end for Ohio State. Drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013, Fragel played four NFL seasons and retired in 2017.
